Best Way to Get from LGA to Manhattan (2026)

There is no single best LGA-to-Manhattan option for every traveler. A prearranged car gives a confirmed door-to-door plan, the official taxi line works without a reservation, rideshare uses terminal-specific pickup zones, and the fare-free Q70 connects Terminals B and C to subway and rail in Queens. Compare the whole trip from baggage claim to the exact Manhattan address.

Q70 LaGuardia Link

The MTA's current Q70 schedule connects Terminals B and C with Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Avenue/74 Street for the E, F, M, R, and 7 subway lines, and with Woodside for the 7 train and Long Island Rail Road. The MTA states the Q70 has been fare-free since May 2022. Subway and LIRR travel still follow their own current fares.

Terminal A is not a Q70 stop. Use the airport's current terminal shuttle or another route to reach a Q70 terminal. Check the MTA app for service changes and elevator status; a route that looks direct may be impractical with bags or a mobility constraint.

M60 to uptown Manhattan

The MTA says the M60-SBS travels directly between LaGuardia and uptown Manhattan and stops at every airport terminal. Manhattan stops include points along 125th Street, plus stops near West 120th, West 116th, and West 106th Streets. It can be a useful direct transit option for an uptown destination. Check the current route, fare, service alerts, accessible stops, and final walk before choosing it.

Yellow taxis

LaGuardia says licensed taxis are available outside each terminal. Join the official dispatcher line and decline terminal solicitors. LGA trips do not use JFK's airport-to-Manhattan flat fare. Review the NYC TLC taxi fare page for the current meter, airport surcharge, congestion charges, toll treatment, and other applicable additions.

Uber, Lyft, and other ride apps

The official LGA rideshare page lists Terminal A pickup across the street, Terminal B on Level 2 of the parking garage, and Terminal C in the arrivals inner lane. Reach the signed area before requesting, use the app's zone, and match the plate. Live prices vary by destination and demand, so a static range is not reliable.

Prearranged private car

For a LaGuardia airport transfer, provide the flight, terminal, passenger phone, exact Manhattan address, passenger and bag counts, child-seat or mobility needs, and required arrival time. The confirmation should state whether pickup is curbside or another authorized meeting method.

Detailed Drivers tracks the flight. Airport pickups include 45 minutes of complimentary waiting for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights, starting when the flight actually lands. We track your flight. Overtime is billed for the actual additional minutes at the applicable per-minute rate for your selected vehicle. The all-in quoted rate includes gratuity; an additional tip is optional.

Rental cars, shuttles, and terminal transfers

Uber Shuttle is a separately booked shared ride, distinct from the airport's free All Terminals Shuttle. LaGuardia's official page lists five routes serving 33rd Street, Times Square, 42nd Street, the West Village, and the World Trade Center, with reservations for up to five seats in the Uber app. Check the exact stop, schedule, and availability in the app; it is a scheduled shared option rather than private door-to-door service.

Most LGA rental companies are off-airport. The airport lists complimentary rental shuttles at Terminal A outside the terminal, Terminal B near ground-transportation Zone 4, and Terminal C near the transportation center. A rental may fit a wider regional itinerary, but include Manhattan parking, tolls, fuel, and return time.

For a shuttle or car service, book an authorized provider and use the confirmed pickup instructions. The airport lists car-service areas at Terminal A across the street, Terminal B on parking-garage Level 2, and Terminal C in the arrivals inner lane. The All Terminals Shuttle connects terminals, parking, rental cars, and car-pickup areas.

Accessibility

LaGuardia directs travelers who need help from the gate to arrange wheelchair assistance with their airline. The airport also points to NYC's Accessible Dispatch program for wheelchair-accessible taxis and says ride apps may offer accessible vehicles. Confirm equipment dimensions and service availability before travel.

Manhattan destination and timing

The best road depends on the final neighborhood and live conditions. A Midtown East, Upper East Side, Times Square, Lower Manhattan, or Upper West Side trip can favor different crossings and surface routes. Do not treat a general drive-time range as a promise. For transit, identify the Manhattan station, transfer, accessible exit, and final walk before boarding at LGA.

For late-night travel, check Q70 and connecting rail service on the exact date. Planned subway work can change transfers. A reserved vehicle or official taxi can be more practical when rail frequency or accessible routes are limited.

Is the Q70 LaGuardia Link free?

Where does rideshare pick up at LGA?

The airport currently lists Terminal A pickup across the street, Terminal B pickup on Level 2 of the parking garage, and Terminal C pickup in the arrivals inner lane. Follow airport signs and the app because temporary operations can change a zone.
